Scoonie Gee

    Scoonie Gee was born in Cincinnati, Ohio and became involved in music at a very early age.  He started playing in bands by the time he was 10 years old.  His parents, recognizing his gift of music, enrolled him in piano, guitar and dance lessons. It was there that the he learned to perform on stage as a musician, and at recitals as a tap dancer.


    Living with a Life Partner who was diagnosed with IBD over 20 years ago, has had its challenges. With his own education about the illness, awareness, compassion and unconditional love for her, their relationship has not only endured, but it has also brought them closer together.  He supports her with all his heart and together they continue forward on the journey as one.


    After attending the University of Cincinnati Scoonie moved to Los Angeles, California to pursue a career in the music and entertainment arts. He played in bands Life, Master Volume, Zero-X, Autobahn, Ghettometal, Five Point Effect, Heavy Mental, Band With No Name, and now has his own solo band Scoonie Gee. He has recorded nationally at studios in Cincinnati and Los Angeles, and internationally in Argentina and Hungary. Along the way as a recording artist Scoonie has also become a studio engineer, producer and multi instrumentalist, specializing in Pro-Tools.


    In 2013 Scoonie became a music volunteer at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Beverly Hills. In 2015, he founded a non-profit music charity program for kids called Kids Rock Studio. In that same year he also founded Scoonie Gee and Friends Rock For Charity Events, which Scoonie also produces, hosts and performs in. Scoonie has had a 6 year residency at the Rainbow Bar and Grill in West Hollywood as well as residencies at Cabo Wabo Cantina Hollywood and Paladino’s in the San Fernando Valley. The event has also toured and played the Rockin The Canyon Music Festival at the OC Tanner Amphitheater in Utah.


    Scoonie has amassed over 4 decades of performing, songwriting, producing, engineering, mixing, hosting and producing events to his name and is also an Ambassador for Earthly Body, a health and wellness brand as well as an Ambassador for Orgain, an all organic health brand.


    He is honored to be a part of IBD Strong and is dedicated to supporting others whose family and life are effected by Inflammatory Bowel Disease.  He is proud to partake in IBD Strong’s peer to peer service in offering his shared experience and support to others who are a partner or spouse of someone living with IBD.
